t had been a long and winding road to get to this place. Not just the lab, but life in general, inner peace, and an inner being that he didn't outright loathe. He was okay with things. Except for the state of his finances and the trail of owed favors that he doubted he would ever pay back in any meaningful way.
He entered the lab and with it, the next step in his journey located in this funnily short thing called life. The doors had a certain weight to them that felt good in his hands and proper for a door to such a learned place. The interior of the lab was what he expected, the various screens of machines casting a dim glow in the darker corners, assistants in white, and the faint hum of processing hardware. It felt as it should, but somehow, not like he expected. He thought on this for a time and decided that this was because he thought that he would be excited, worried, or perhaps anticipatory, but instead he felt the calm and passive nothingness of the same serene peace that he carried everywhere, like a trusty cloak.
An assistant greeted him and led him towards where the professor would help him further. Murphy returned a nod in kind.
"I was told that there were starter pokemon, here? I'd like to become a pokemon breeder.", he voiced slowly, as if tasting the syllables as they were uttered. He spoke to no one in particular, and he felt that this was good enough; those who needed to hear it would, and those who did not would ignore it like any other background noise and continue their labors.

The professor was in a back room seemingly sorting things out before she heard someone. She went to lift her head and forgot where it was. A small boof was heard as she hit her head on the shelf above her. "Ow, done it again." She muttered out and she lifted her head correctly and rubbed it. "One day, One day" She muttered then before chuckling to herself, she would have to sort things out in here later.
She then poked her head out the doorway smiling. "Give me a minute, feel free to fill out the clipboard on my deck while you wait. It's for our records" She explained before poking her head back in, "Now where are they...oh yes" She then got back to it, grabbing some Crystal Balls, and a small starter pack. With them, in hand, she headed out and placed the pack on the deck. "Welcome to the lab, I am Maria Gleeful the professor here. I have three pokemon you can choose from as well as a starter pack. There are also some eggs, I want to give you, please be careful with these." Maria greeted and explained before throwing the Crystal Balls out.
Out from them came three pokemon, Growlthe, Zorua and a Marill. Though all three looked different, more so the Maril. "Choose whatever one you want, and please take your time, I can hard to choose, more so with some variants as these" Maria said before she did some things on her deck while she waited. She hoped she was doing okay, she was more new with handling people that wanted to be breeders. But time could only tell if she was doing okay.
Your Pokemon has been added to your pc.
Could you please also choose an evolution stone and a fossil for your starter pack as this will quicken the process a little.
Also, hope you are okay with me doing the eggs this way, I feel it makes sense getting the eggs from the professor.

faint noise was heard from another room as Professor Maria bumped her head with comment.
Murphy's eyes wandered in that direction as a the professor appeared and spoke casually. A woman of business, he could appreciate that.
He observed each of the pokemon with narrowed eyes, wanting one that seemed to fit his personality. The growlithe seemed proud and a little boisterous, the marill seemed cute, nurturing, and abundantly happy. But the zorua seemed to watch him with a quiet, cold indifference, just as observant as he was.
"The zorua seems to suit me best.", he said slowly, consideringly. Maintaining its air of calculated quiet indifference, the Zorua stepped forwards and sat, as if affirming its choice.
He took the eggs and placed them in his knapsack carefully, insulating each egg with the spare clothing in his pack. "Thank you.", he added.

Maria smiled as she watched Murphy pick his pokemon and took his things, putting them away. "A nice choice" she commented before she then looked at the others that weren't chosen. She chuckled and picked them up after seeing this sad/angry faces. "Don't worry you two, you will be picked one day." She reassured them as she gave them a small and gentle hug. She then put them down again before putting them back in their balls. Maria then looked up and grabbed the Zorua's Crystal Ball.
"Here is their ball to keep them in, any questions then feel free to ask away" She stated as she handed the ball over, it was then that she looked down to her desk and saw the clipboard. She then noticed that he seemingly had not filled it out? She then looked back up before she said one final thing. "If you could also sign your name on the paper here on the clipboard before you go if you have not already that would be great. It is for our records, so we can keep tracks of all the new trainers." She went to get on with some things, ready if she was needed but then remembered one other thing. "Oh yes, take your time, the lab is open all day and doesn't tend to be too busy" With that said she smiled and got on with some work that she could quickly do.
